Flipper Zero is a portable multitool for pentesters and geeks in a toy like body. Most of us, upon discovering its capabilities, want to have it instantly from anywhere.

If you are looking to get one, check whether there is any stock available on flipperzero.one. If you are from Nepal and do not have access to buy this, make sure to leave me a comment and I will ship one to you for whatever it costs.

Let's get back to Flipper Zero. The idea of Flipper Zero was inspired by the pwnagotchi project, but the best thing about this project is that it is usable and portable for everyday use. It is completely autonomous and can be controlled with the six buttons available on the hardware itself. You can also connect Flipper Zero over USB and Bluetooth.

If you look at the GPIO pins, Flipper Zero is actually very versatile for hardware exploration, firmware flashing, debugging, and fuzzing. It can be used as a regular USB to UART, SPI, I2C, and similar adapters.

Flipper Zero and its GPIO pins

I made some cool GPIO integrations with the Flipper Zero, where I used NRF24 and Node MCU microchips on a regular PCB board to work with car signals and WiFi devices, because I was bored with regular evil twin attacks for WiFi.

There are endless possibilities if you are into hardware hacking or wireless testing. It has been so easy for me to work with daily life hardware hacking simulations, such as bypassing RFIDs, doing NFC card cloning simulations, and interacting with infrared signals for different devices like wireless remotes, for various official purposes.

Some cool things you can do with this device

  • Use it as a universal remote to control devices like TVs, ACs, projectors, and other wireless remote operable devices.
  • Clone the remotes of such devices if the universal remote does not work.
  • Read your pet's temperature and ID if the pet is implanted with a thermochip or RFID.
  • Clone keyless entry cards, such as hotel room key cards or an employee badge to enter secure facilities.
  • Read your credit card information from the NFC cards that most banks use.
  • Emulate such NFC bank cards in tap to pay systems if the card is insecure.
  • Execute malicious code on your devices, such as laptops, Android, and iOS devices, using Bluetooth or USB.
  • Open car doors if they do not have any encryption or rolling code implemented.
  • Change traffic lights.
  • Play cool video games, and by the way, it can even control some adult toys.

Note: I am sharing just a brief description of the Flipper Zero here, not all the technicalities and cases. I think you will explore more based on your interest and needs. The possibilities of using the Flipper Zero are huge and depend on what people are trying to create.

I have a cool demonstration of cloning hotel key cards using Flipper Zero. I hope you will enjoy watching this video.

Do not forget to leave me a comment telling me the craziest thing you have done with this device.

Peace out!
